Environmental Services Aide (Housekeeping) - Part Time - Day

At Hackensack Meridian Health, our Environmental Services Aides play a vital role in maintaining a clean and sanitary environment, ensuring the well-being of patients and supporting our mission to transform healthcare. This position is key to fostering a safe and welcoming space for both patients and team members.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect patient rooms, bathrooms, furniture, and other areas of the facility in a timely manner.
• Deliver linen and remove trash from assigned areas.
• Sweep and mop patient rooms and other designated spaces.
• Maintain adequate stock of materials, supplies, and chemicals on cleaning carts and in janitor’s closets.
• Consistently perform daily floor care procedures.
• Ensure equipment (carts, tanks, buckets) is kept clean, polished, and properly maintained; empty and rinse at the end of each shift.
• Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, including organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
• Perform other duties and/or projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous Environmental Services or Housekeeping experience (preferred).
• High School diploma, General Equivalency Diploma (GED), and/or equivalent programs (preferred).

Pay

The starting hourly rate for this role is $17.55. The final base compensation may vary based on factors such as labor market data, relevant experience, education, certifications, skills, geographic location, internal equity, and budget considerations. Full-time and part-time (20+ hours/week) positions may also be eligible for shift differentials, performance-based incentives, bonuses, or commissions.
