Environmental Services Aide

About the Role

Responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary facility (Hospital and all Syringa clinics) including all patient and visitor areas. Responsible for laundry and general cleaning.

Responsibilities

• Clean all administrative and patient care areas as directed by the supervisor.
• Perform extra cleaning when directed, including but not limited to washing down walls, windows, scouring sinks, showers, window shades, baseboards, ceilings, and other non-daily cleaning activities.
• Maintain floors including waxing, buffing, carpet cleaning, vacuuming, and mopping as assigned.
• Knowledge of all applicable hospital and department policies and procedures.
• Participate in mandatory training on EHR and Empower (Time and Attendance) and demonstrate basic competency in the functions applicable to the role.
• Work closely with all departments and communicate effectively with employees, departments, customers, and patients.
• Work a weekend rotation or other shifts as needed, including callbacks for late check-outs, cleaning of the ER, or emergency surgeries.
• Handle highly confidential information.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Skills

• Demonstrate reading and writing competency.
• Ability to distinguish different colors.
