Signet Health is hiring for Environmental Services Professionals in Housekeeping for our program at Permian Basin Behavioral Health Center, Midland TX. This is an hourly position.
Schedule
- Days and hours of work may vary and may include weekends and/or holidays.
- May involve day, evening, and/or night shifts to assure the continuous and safe operation of the hospital.
- Overtime is not scheduled but may occur.
- As a general rule, schedule will reflect coverage to include a full seven-day schedule.
Responsibilities
- Maintains environmental and infection control standards within the facility.
- Performs a variety of general cleaning tasks to maintain patient rooms, offices, hallways, and other assigned areas of the facility.
- Collects dirty linens from units; uses industrial washer and dryer to wash hospital linens according to hospital standards.
- Operates mechanical floor cleaners, buffers, vacuums, snow blowers, shampooers, and related environmental service equipment.
- Wet-mops rooms, halls, and other areas; shampoos rugs and furniture.
- Cleans vents, fan fixtures, top of windows, doorframes, and other high areas using a ladder.
- Moves furniture and other heavy objects as required.
- Performs terminal cleaning procedures of patient rooms and prepares rooms for new occupants; follows isolation procedures in isolation rooms.
- Makes supply packs for departments and puts linen stacks in carts for distribution.
- Keeps records of linen distribution by department; checks floor linens supplies and lists linen use by department.
- Shovels snow at all exits and ramps.
- Assists with evacuations when needed.
Requirements
- May involve prolonged standing with frequent bending, stooping, and reaching over the head.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Pushing and pulling heavy objects weighing 75 lbs.
- May be subjected to extreme temperature changes when working inside and outside of the building environment.
- Sufficient emotional maturity to accept adverse comments and criticism while working and respond in a positive manner.
- May be required to use equipment and/or chemicals that may be potentially hazardous.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED diploma.
- 2+ years of related experience, preferably in a hospital setting.
