Responsibilities
- Assures a clean, safe, and attractive environment for patients, employees, and visitors.
- Cleans and sanitizes rooms, furnishings, and assigned work areas according to established policies and procedures.
- May be required to work within the Behavioral Health Unit (BHU).
- May be subject to irregular hours, including evenings or weekends, to participate in operational and community events as necessary.
Qualifications
- Minimum Education: Grammar School or its equivalent. Ability to read and write English and understand oral instructions.
- Minimum Experience: One month of on-the-job training. Healthcare and hospital experience preferred.
- Ability to read and comprehend infection control postings, hazardous chemical warnings, and follow oral and written instructions.
- Required Certification/Registration: Hospital Crisis Intervention training course within three (3) months of hire/transfer and annually thereafter.
Physical Requirements
- Working Conditions: Works in a clean, well-lighted, heated, or ventilated facility. No routine exposure to hazards.
- Physical Demands: Demonstrates full anatomical range of motion to accomplish tasks. Visual and aural acuity, finger and hand dexterity to operate equipment. Can withstand long periods of sitting, standing, and/or constant walking. Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Mental Demands: Ability to foster collaborative relationships, work well under pressure, organize and synthesize new information, and prioritize tasks. Requires critical thinking, analytical skills, and flexibility. Ability to multi-task and maintain detailed attention in an environment with interruptions. Demonstrates sensitivity to customer needs and expectations.

Pay
The compensation range for this role is $22.72 - $23.41 hourly. The range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses, incentive pay, differential pay, or other forms of compensation or benefits. Several factors may be considered when determining compensation, including location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget, and internal equity.
Schedule
This is an on-site role. At times, Environmental Service Workers may be subject to irregular hours, including evenings or weekends, to meet operational and community event needs.
