Environmental Service Technician/Housekeeper

Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is seeking Environmental Service Technicians/Housekeepers to support operations at the Mann-Grandstaff VA Medical Center in Spokane, WA. Ansible is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) providing solutions in national security, health care, and information technology.

Responsibilities

• Outpatient Rooms: High dust, wipe walls and all furniture. Clean debris or paint left by contractors. Mop floors with germicidal solution; vacuum carpets. Keep horizontal surfaces free of dust and debris. Change cubicle curtains as needed.
• Maintain Floors: Sweep, dust mop, damp mop, wet mop, dry buff, and spray buff all non-carpeted floors for a uniform, glossy appearance. Clean baseboards, corners, and edges. Move and replace furniture, trash receptacles, and other items. Strip and apply fresh coats of floor finish semi-annually or as needed.
• Break Rooms: Dust mop, wet mop, and refinish VCT flooring. Clean counters, sinks, shelving, and appliances with VA-approved germicidal. Wipe tables, chairs, and furnishings; ensure areas are inspection-ready and free of dust, lint, or stains.
• Common Areas: Sweep, mop, and wipe chairs, tables, windowsills, stairwells, and corridors with VA-approved germicidal throughout the day. Clean entrance mats to maintain quality standards.
• Remove Trash: Empty all trash daily, including items marked “TRASH” near receptacles. Deposit trash in outdoor containers. Clean receptacles to remove odors and foreign matter. Transport red bags or RMW (Chemo) to the loading dock.
• Clean and Disinfect: Use EPA-approved hospital-grade germicidal detergent to clean and polish sinks, water fountains, plumbing fixtures, and waiting rooms. Ensure surfaces are free of deposits, dirt, streaks, and odors.
• Clean Interior Glass/Mirrors: Clean all interior glass (doors, partitions, display cases, directory boards, fire extinguisher cases, pharmacy windows, nurses' stations, and picture frames) to remove film, dirt, streaks, smudges, or water.
• Vacuum Carpets: Vacuum carpeted areas daily to remove visible dirt, debris, and litter. Remove spots using manufacturer-approved methods. Report tears, burns, or raveling to the Government representative.
• Clean Carpets: Shampoo carpets using standard commercial practices. Use heavy-duty spot removers for heavily soiled areas. Ensure carpets are uniform in appearance and free of stains. Clean underneath moved items and return them to original positions.
• Vacuum and Clean Floor Mats: Vacuum and clean interior/exterior mats to remove lint, litter, soil, and moisture. Return mats to their original locations.
• General Spot Cleaning: Continuously remove smudges, fingerprints, marks, streaks, or spills from walls, partitions, vents, doors, handles, light switches, and fixtures. Ensure surfaces are clean and uniform.
• General Dusting: Dust or clean all horizontal surfaces to eliminate dust collection. Wipe with VA-approved germicidal.
• Cubicle Curtains: Change cubicle curtains when needed or soiled.
• Restrooms: Clean and disinfect sinks, toilet bowls, urinals, lavatories, showers, partitions, dispensers, doors, and fixtures with EPA-approved germicidal. Descale toilet bowls weekly. Sweep and mop floors, ensuring they are free of litter, dirt, and streaks. Stock restroom supplies (soap, paper towels, toilet paper) throughout the day.
• Floor Maintenance: Strip wax, finish, and buff floors using non-slip floor finish. Turn back rugs to clean and finish underneath.
