Environmental Service Tech

About the Role

As our Environmental Service Technician, you will be responsible for executing daily duties to establish and maintain a safe, hygienic, and aesthetically pleasing care environment. You will interact with patients, visitors, and clinical and non-clinical staff while ensuring timely room turnovers and adhering to environmental hygiene and infection prevention principles. This role is essential for cleaning, disinfection, infection prevention, and enhancing patient experience in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily occupied and discharge/transfer cleaning and disinfection of patient care areas, equipment, and other common areas as assigned.
• Perform duties with a working knowledge of healthcare cleaning and disinfecting principles and requirements.
• Display safe chemical use and equipment handling within the healthcare environment.
• Maintain cleaning cart(s), supplies, and equipment according to the Standard Work cart setup.
• Remove waste and transport it to the appropriate disposal area, identifying proper waste stream handling (e.g., regulated medical, recycle, solid, hazardous) in accordance with established procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Follow all infection prevention practices, including proper cleaning and disinfection protocols, hand hygiene, standard and isolation precautions, and proper donning and doffing of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
• Previous healthcare experience (preferred).
• Proficiency in cleaning and infection control protocols.
• Strong work ethic, accountability, and effective communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize safety and waste management.

Pay

$18.00 - $22.75 per hour.
