Environmental Service Specialist - Housekeeping (PRN)

About the role

The EVS specialist ensures a safe, hygienic, and aesthetically pleasing environment for patients, visitors, and staff, interacts appropriately with patients and families, maintains timely room cleans to support patient throughput, adjusts workflow as needed, and contributes to hospital disinfection and infection prevention.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, hygienic, and aesthetically pleasing environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
• Interact with patients and their families/loved ones (physical, psychological, educational, safety-related) appropriate to patient demographics.
• Ensure timely room cleans in relation to hospital patient throughput.
• Respond favorably to requests to adjust daily workflow or area assignment to meet hospital/discharge flow needs.
• Contribute to hospital disinfection and infection prevention per quality standards.

Qualifications

Required: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; detail‑oriented.

Preferred: High School Diploma or GED; 1 year of Environmental Services experience; Certified Health Care Environmental Services (CHEST) certification.

Pay

$17.47 per hour (hourly position)
