Environmental Service Professonal I- Part Time (Day Shift)

About the role

A Day in the Life: Environmental Services is front line infection prevention responsible for performing services in accordance with established organizational policies and procedures for providing a safe environment. This includes demonstrating the principles of cleaning, disinfection, and quality assurance to reduce harmful pathogens for the benefit of patients, visitors, and staff. This position will be trained to independently and competently perform general cleans and dismissal cleans.

Standing and walking much of the day. May require bending, stretching, climbing ladders, lifting, pulling, and pushing. Gloves, goggles, face shield, gown, mask, and hardhat must be worn as situation warrants and defined in the Safety Standard Act. Must follow all department, hospital, and regulatory agency guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Disinfect and clean assigned areas as per Environmental Services procedures developed to control the growth of microorganisms.
• Prepare patient rooms for new admissions by staging the room in an aesthetically pleasing way.
• Maintain cleaning cart(s), supplies, and equipment by properly stocking and restocking the environmental services cart in a neat and orderly fashion.
• Remove trash, recycling, confidential (HIPAA) information, and soiled linen from floors using a utility cart.
• Replace sharps containers in patient rooms, procedure rooms, and soiled utility rooms.
• Transport furniture, equipment, clean linen, and supplies.
• Demonstrate the ability to operate and properly maintain all EVS tools and equipment needed to clean and disinfect the environment.

Qualifications

What’s Preferred:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 6 months of hospital environmental service/housekeeping experience

Additional Information
