Responsibilities
- CLEANING TECHNIQUES:
- High and low dusting.
- Empties trash receptacles, removes trash, and relines container.
- Damp wipes/disinfects furniture and surfaces.
- Cleans and polishes bathroom and bathroom fixtures.
- Dry mops or vacuums floors.
- Wet mops/disinfects floors.
- Burnishes/Refinishes floors.
- Cleans wall surfaces and windows.
- Polishes metallic surfaces.
- Replenishes room supplies.
- Performs check out or room discharge cleaning.
- Shampoos carpets.
- Collects bulk trash from soiled holding areas.
- Inspects one's own work for quality.
- MANTAINANCE & CLEANLINESS:
- Completes cleaning assignments within acceptable time parameters as established by the department director.
- Measures and dilutes cleaning chemicals appropriately and uses chemicals for their intended use.
- Maintains assigned equipment and work stations for cleanliness and reports repair needs.
- Aids in the cleaning of emergency spills when observed or upon request.
- Observes and reports the general need for repairs to equipment, furniture, building and fixtures.
- Safety:
- Assure the safety of patients, staff and visitors through enforcement of department safety policies and procedures.
- Adhere to safety requirements when performing jobs using various tools and equipment.
- Demonstrate proper use of protective devices and clothing as prescribed.
- Immediately report all accidents and incidents to supervisor.
- Keep floor free from spills, trash or articles.
- Demonstrate safe lifting practices.
- Ability to demonstrate fire (emergency) evacuation plan.
- Adhere to lock out/tag out procedures.
- ADDITIONAL TASKS:
- Performs any additional assignments as required by supervisor.
- Attends all scheduled meetings and in-services as directed by supervisor/manager.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Experience: Must pass all pre-employment screenings as required by the client.
- Special Skills: Ability to understand and speak English at a level that allows for safe efficient performance of assigned duties.
- Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is required to stand and walk. The employee must frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally move and/or lift up to 50 pounds. The specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
