Environmental Service Aide (Housekeeping) - Full Time - Day

About the role

At Hackensack Meridian Health, our Environmental Service Aides play a vital role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the hospital. This position is key to supporting our mission of transforming healthcare and delivering exceptional patient care through a collaborative and supportive team environment.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect patient rooms, bathrooms, furniture, and other areas of the facility in a timely manner.
• Deliver linen and remove trash from assigned areas.
• Sweep and mop patient rooms.
• Maintain adequate stock of materials, supplies, and chemicals on cleaning carts and in janitor closets.
• Consistently perform daily floor care procedures.
• Ensure equipment (carts, tanks, buckets) is kept clean, polished, and properly emptied and rinsed at the end of each shift.
• Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, including HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
• Perform other duties and/or projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Preferred:

• Previous Environmental Service or Housekeeping experience.
• High School diploma, General Equivalency Diploma (GED), and/or equivalent programs.

Pay

The posted rate of pay for this role is a reasonable good faith estimate of the minimum base pay, starting at $17.55 per hour. The final compensation offered may vary based on factors such as labor market data, relevant experience, education, certifications, skills, geographic location, internal equity, and budget considerations. Some positions may also be eligible for shift differentials, performance-based incentives, bonuses, or commissions.
