Environmental Scientist/Planner 1
About the role
We're looking for an Environmental Scientist/Planner to join our dynamic team. Your work will be crucial in ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and supporting the development of sustainable projects.
Responsibilities
- Work on a wide variety of environmental compliance and natural resources projects
- Assist with environmental permits, NEPA documentation, biological assessments and other environmental compliance documentation
- Collect project-related data, including research, surveys, interviews, map reviews, field investigations for wetlands, natural resources, land use, etc.
- Prepare constraints mapping and assist with permitting, wetland and stream mitigation design, planning, documentation, etc.
- Write, review, and edit work products with project team members
- Coordinate with specialty sub consultants or consultant team members
- Support and participate in public information meetings and hearings
- Aid in permit coordination, acquisition, and compliance
- Manage project schedules and track deliverables
- Contribute to business development and project pursuit roles
Requirements
- Masters' degree in Environmental Science or closely related field
- Minimum of 1 year transportation or development-related technical and/or field experience
- Experience in wetlands/natural resources, permitting, planning, NEPA, MEPA, CEPA, SEQRA, Section 7, research and assessment of regulations
- Wetland certifications preferred (CWS, PWS, WPIT etc.)
- Strong conceptual, organizational, problem-solving and research abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- Field experience skills
- Preferred local New England experience
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Sciences or closely related field
- Knowledge of wetland delineation, field investigation techniques, and agency coordination requirements
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- MS Office experience

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.
Pay
Massachusetts: $52,688 - $75,240
Rhode Island: $46,085-$65,835
Connecticut: $48,279-$65,835
