Responsibilities
- Solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to produce our clients’ visions for the future built environment.
- Develop familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Kimley-Horn’s and our client’s practices, procedures, and standards.
- Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESA), Natural Resources Due Diligence and Permitting and/or National Environmental Policy Act compliance
- Some travel may be required (approximately 10-20%) for site visits, client meetings and/or professional development opportunites.
Qualifications
- 5+ years relevant experience, including field work, data collection, and preparation of Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs)
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in relevant majors including Environmental Science, Geology, Biology or related majors
- Professional Geoscientist/Geologist (P.G.) not required, but a plus
- Comprehensive knowledge of Texas state (i.e., TCEQ) permitting and regulations
- Ability to assess sites for Business Environmental Risks (BERs) and Recognized Environmental Conditions (REC), and provide technical and practical guidance and solutions to clients and stakeholders
- Strong technical writing skills and experience writing detailed technical reports
- Desire to lead day-to-day training and mentorship of staff in your area of expertise
- Working knowledge and strong interest in ArcGIS
- Desire to work in both an office environment and in the field
- Willingness and flexibility to travel for projects as needed
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
- Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
- Detail-oriented team player with the ability to contribute to a positive work environment
- Desire to learn new skills, markets and project types
- Strong technical and organizational skills
- The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced work environment as well as the ability to manage and prioritize several assignments concurrently and meet deadlines
