Environmental Scientist/Geologist- Field Team Lead
EnSafe is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Scientist/Geologist/Field Team Lead to join our team in Jacksonville, FL. Successful candidates must be willing to work onsite in our Jacksonville office; relocation assistance is available.
About the role
We are looking for a Field Team Lead to support a diverse range of environmental projects, including site investigations, feasibility studies, and implementation of remedial solutions for both traditional and emerging contaminants such as PFAS. Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, schedule, and lead field and operations and maintenance (O&M) activities.
- Conduct site investigation activities including drilling, monitoring well installations, downhole geophysics, and sampling (soil, groundwater, indoor air, soil gas, sediment, surface water, stormwater, drinking water, building materials, and biota) according to FDEP and EPA SOPs.
- Assist Project Managers with CERCLA and RCRA projects in various stages.
- Assist in the preparation of project proposals, estimates, work plans, and technical reports.
- Interact and interface with clients, regulators, and subcontractors onsite.
- Assist in the development of technical recommendations for site assessment and remediation activities.
- Demonstrate understanding of local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
Requirements
- Minimum of a BS in Geology, Hydrogeology, Civil, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering, or an environmental-related science.
- Minimum of 3-6 years of environmental experience, including oversight of contractors, air, soil, groundwater, wastewater sampling, drilling, field project planning, and execution.
- Professional registration, certification, GID, geotechnical, and/or geophysics experience are a plus.
- Preferred: EIT or GIT, and the ability to obtain a PE or PG license.
- Outstanding proficiency in Microsoft Programs, including Word and Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. throughout the day.
- Current 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification and 8-hour refreshers.
- Valid driver’s license to operate a vehicle in the U.S.
- Ability to obtain and maintain background clearance.
- Regional travel up to 20% on an annual basis, including overnight/weekends.
