About the role

The Environmental Safety Program Manager is responsible for implementing and continuously improving various environmental and safety standards at the Children's Behavioral Health Center.

Responsibilities

  • Aids in the implementation of EPA, OSHA, NFPA, and TJC standards to ensure compliance.
  • Supports the development and execution of management plans within the Environment of Care (EOC).
  • Collaborates with all organizational levels to identify, analyze, and resolve issues related to EOC, Fire and Life Safety, and Occupational Safety.
  • Assists in job hazard analysis and provides guidance on discrepancies.
  • Manages contractors, inspects their work, and ensures adherence to safety protocols.
  • Responds to facility emergencies and urgent tasks as needed.
  • Develops and implements training and communication tools to ensure understanding of policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Identifies and addresses safety and health concerns through audits and hazard controls.
  • Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of implemented hazard controls.
  • Reviews and tracks EOC program data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Participates in hospital committees and reviews and updates policies related to Fire and Life Safety, Occupational Safety, and Environment of Care.
  • Assists in the implementation and enforcement of interim life safety plans and infection control risk assessments.
  • Assists with on-site inspections, providing support to inspectors and surveyors, and preparing reports as required.
  • Reviews incident reports and completes required fire drills at main campus and offsite facilities.
  • Completes code pink drills at main campus and conducts annual risk assessments.
  • Maintains professional affiliations and attends relevant conferences and seminars.

Requirements

Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree and 2+ years of professional work experience, preferably in a healthcare setting. Must have strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

Strong understanding and familiarity with OSHA, EPA, TJC, EOC, LS, Safety Management Standards, NFPA 101, and OSDH Guidelines are required. Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and construction systems is beneficial.
