General Responsibilities

Terracon is seeking an Environmental Project Manager to support the growth of our service line in Minnesota. The role involves managing subsurface investigations, soil vapor assessments, and remedial actions, as well as assisting with proposal preparation and RFP/RFQ responses. This position also includes helping senior staff develop new client relationships and maintaining our existing client base.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with proposal preparation and RFP/RFQ responses, liaising with internal due diligence staff, Terracon National Account Managers, and/or clients for inquiries regarding services.
  • Collaborate with other service lines (e.g., geotechnical, facilities, compliance) to explore cross-selling opportunities.
  • Manage subsurface investigations (Phase II ESAs, Limited Site Investigations, Remedial Investigations) to evaluate soil, groundwater, and soil vapor.
  • Manage remediation projects involving soil, groundwater, and/or soil vapor response actions.
  • Identify, develop, and gather resources to complete these projects, including developing project schedules, budget estimation, selecting equipment, project staff, and external contractors.
  • Lead IIF (Incident and Injury Free) culture by implementing safety measures such as pre-task planning and ensuring compliance with safety plans.
  • Resolve operational issues and minimize delays by coordinating with field personnel, office staff, and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate with accounting for financial management, including business intelligence, invoicing, and collections.

Requirements

  • Ability to independently analyze and interpret analytical data, technical reports, technical guidance documents, and governmental regulations pertaining to environmental contamination.
  • Strong technical writing skills, including written reports and business correspondence.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Strong experience with environmental investigation (including field data collection) and remediation related to commercial/industrial, transportation, and energy clients.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in environmental consulting or environmental engineering work.
  • OSHA 40-hour Hazwoper certification and current annual refresher.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in technical disciplines such as Geology, Engineering, or Environmental Science.
  • A valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • EIT/PE or GIT/PG certification is preferred but not required.
