About the role
The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting and overseeing environmental site assessments (Phase I and II ESAs), facility investigations, other hazardous waste site investigations, and technical report writing.
Responsibilities
- Establishing project objectives, procedures and performance standards, and leading multi-disciplinary teams on site reconnaissance;
- Solid base writing skills;
- Attention to detail;
- Effective inter-communication skills;
- Familiarity with Phase I (ASTM E1527-21), Phase II (ASTM E1903), and ability to work independently when required;
- Collaboration with technical staff on reports and field assignments;
- Preparation of technical report deliverables;
- Mentor and provide direct, hands-on assistance when teaching verbal and written skills to staff environmental professionals.
Requirements
- Current 40-Hour HAZWOPER, ASTM Environmental Professional (EP) (EPA 40 CFR 312.10), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), Professional Engineer (PE), Geologist in Training/Registered/Professional Geologist (GIT/RG/PG), EPA Lead Inspector, EPA Lead Risk Assessor, AHERA Building Inspector, AHERA Management Planner, Project Management Professional (PMP), and/or other industry-relevant certification preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving history.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field required;
- Master’s Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field a plus.
Skills
- Five to ten years of experience performing most or all of the tasks listed above with at least one year of managing and/or coordinating project budgets and staff.
