Environmental Project Manager

About the role

The Environmental Project Manager will manage and perform asbestos, lead-based paint, mold, and indoor air quality assessments, remediation, and/or abatement. They will also review daily reports, conduct site visits, manage project budgets, and prepare reports for senior management.

Responsibilities

• Manage and perform asbestos, lead-based paint, mold, and indoor air quality assessments, remediation, and/or abatement.
• Review daily reports produced by field staff.
• Perform routine visits to active project sites to ensure appropriate quality and progress.
• Direct site activities and maintain continuous communication with subordinate field staff and senior managers.

• Prepare environmental reports, perform analysis, and provide recommendations for review by senior staff.
• Prepare change orders, invoices, and assist with collection efforts.
• Schedule, train, and oversee subordinate staff members.
• Prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines.
• Consult with supervisor to help prioritize tasks on a weekly basis.
• Manage environmental projects including the application of technical support.
• Prepare proposals and change orders.
• Manage and/or perform multiple projects simultaneously.
• Mentor junior staff and support overall development of the team.
• Interface with clients on a daily basis.
• Host or attend project discussions with clients, follow up on reports to determine if there are questions.
• Communicate with junior staff to direct field work performed by subcontractors and other ECS technicians and other field staff.
• Mentor junior staff as needed.
• Communicate project completion milestones with client and advise on any significant directional changes.

Requirements

• Bachelor and/or Master of Science in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, Environmental Health, Environmental Engineering, Geology, or other related environmental degree.
• Minimum 2 years of related consulting experience.
• Absence of asbestos inspector certification is not a requirement but is preferred.
• Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), or an equivalent professional licensure is desired.
