About the Role

The Environmental Professional - Project Manager is responsible for project management, leadership, profitability, and client management. This is a leadership position that includes mentoring and developing staff while maintaining presence and leadership throughout the regions where we do business through involvement in civic, professional, and business organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Project management in the areas of due diligence, site remediation, regulatory compliance, and permitting
  • Manage team assignments and balance workload in a deadline-driven environment
  • Business development and professional networking
  • Quality control and permitting of federal, state, and local regulatory agencies
  • Hands-on field supervision and subcontractor coordination
  • Prepare technical proposals
  • Financial management of projects, including accounts receivable
  • Budgeting and scheduling of projects
  • Client management and ensuring overall satisfaction
  • Mentor and develop staff
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or similar
  • 5 to 10 years’ experience in Site Remediation (due diligence, site and remedial investigation, remediation design and implementation, regulatory compliance, and permitting experience)
  • 40-Hour HAZWOPER training
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and Bluebeam
  • Strong field experience and knowledge

Qualifications

  • NJDEP Subsurface Evaluator/Closure Certification (a plus)
  • Professional Geologist (a plus)
  • Knowledge of New Jersey LSRP support services (i.e., forms, reports, web-portal, deadlines)
  • Remediation design and implementation services (i.e., VIMS, In-Situ, Ex-Situ, Excavation)
  • Soil characterization and waste management
  • Experience dealing with regulatory agencies and review professionals
  • Proficient in the use of available websites for due diligence and site investigation purposes
  • Construction oversight experience for site work
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Independent and critical thinking abilities
  • Superior organizational and delegation ability
  • Ability to work and lead in a team-oriented environment with a focus on staff development and mentoring
  • Client management experience
