Environmental Planner 1
About the role
HDR is seeking a highly motivated Environmental Planner 1 to work in our Transportation Business Group as a member of our Environmental Sciences and Planning Section, based out of either our Nashville or Brentwood, Tennessee offices.
Responsibilities
- Collect and report project-related environmental data, including research, interviews with government agencies and clients, map reviews, and field investigations of environmental features.
- Prepare NEPA documents, including associated technical memoranda.
- Prepare for and participate in public and client information meetings and hearings.
- Prepare, plan, and analyze/review technical studies, permit applications, NEPA documents, and similar reports/documents.
- Afford assistance to public and private clients with permit coordination, acquisition, and compliance for wetland impacts, bridge construction, and threatened/endangered species.
- Manage and report on all aspects of environmental projects, including scope, schedule, and budget.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 5 years of environmental experience.
- Experience delivering a variety of complex environmental projects and programs.
- Strong project management skills.
- AICP certification.
- Local candidates preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Resources or Planning.
- Experienced in MS Office Suite.
- Self-starter with excellent writing and communication skills.
- Strong conceptual, organizational, problem-solving and research abilities.
