Environmental Leader
Position Summary
The Environmental Leader is responsible for the development, administration, and implementation of environmental programs in accordance with governmental requirements.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Monitor pollution prevention activities, compliance, and auditing efforts
- Conduct studies and prepare environmental impact reports for new construction projects, plant processes, and permit changes
- Review and analyze environmental documentation issued by regulatory agencies; determines impact on operations, and publish compliance strategies and requirements
- Evaluate proposed regulations to determine financial, industrial, public, and environmental impact
- Interact with regulators to resolve compliance issues; establish permit requirements and assists in regulatory audits
- Execute environmental sampling, data analysis, risk assessment, and design of environmental control/treatment systems
- Work extended hours, nights, or weekends on an as needed basis
- Oversee waste stream management (reduction, reuse, recycling, and safe disposal)
- Attend and participate in public forums and meetings
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field (e.g. engineering, environmental, chemical)
- 7-10 years of experience in relevant chemical, oil/gas, or manufacturing industry with field experience
Additional Qualifications
- Ability to be self-directed in managing multiple priorities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Professional Certification or License preferred (e.g., CHMM, PE)
- Ability to be proactive in identifying and resolving environmental issues
- Experience in remediation and root cause analysis
- Knowledge of Six Sigma principles
- Familiarity with RC14001 Responsible Care, ISO 14001, ISO 9001
Pay Range
The base salary range for this role is $130,700.00-$196,100.00. We offer a range of market-competitive total rewards that include periodic pay rate adjustments based on market competitiveness.
