About the role

The role is based on Cedar Rapids, IA (On-site role).

Responsibilities

  • Support and promote a strong, site-wide safety culture focused on employee wellbeing and safe work practices
  • Lead and support incident investigations, identifying root causes and implementing preventive actions
  • Conduct industrial hygiene (IH) monitoring and sampling to support occupational health programs
  • Partner with operations to ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations
  • Participate in EHS design reviews, including ergonomics, ventilation, PPE, and emergency preparedness
  • Deliver EHS training, including new hire orientation and annual compliance refreshers
  • Support internal and external audits to ensure adherence to IFF and regulatory standards
  • Track, analyze, and report EHS metrics, ensuring timely and accurate monthly reporting
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety programs and employee engagement

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Safety, or related field
  • 2–5 years of experience in EHS, Industrial Hygiene, or a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of EHS regulations and compliance requirements (OSHA, environmental standards, etc.)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities with deadlines
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and in a team setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to influence across functions
  • Experience with industrial hygiene principles, monitoring, and exposure assessments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and documentation management

Qualifications

  • Experience in food, chemical, or pharmaceutical manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with emergency response programs and safety committees
  • Experience participating in audits and regulatory inspections

Skills

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with industrial hygiene principles
