About the role
The Environmental Health & Safety Professional - Journey will manage the University's Workers' Compensation, Return to Work, and OSHA injury/illness reporting programs. This includes receiving employee injury reports, creating claims, facilitating claim management with the State's Third-Party Administrator, maintaining required documentation, conducting accident investigations, developing corrective/preventive actions, coordinating/facilitating return to work of injured employees, and conducting annual trend analysis of injury/illness data.
Responsibilities
- Manage Workers' Compensation, Return to Work, and OSHA injury/illness reporting programs
- Create and maintain claims for employee injury reports
- Facilitate claim management with the State's Third-Party Administrator
- Maintain required documentation, including OSHA 300 injury/illness log
- Conduct accident investigations and develop corrective/preventive actions
- Collaborate with the Third-Party Administrator, medical providers, and supervisors to facilitate return to work of injured employees
- Analyze injury/illness data annually to identify prevention initiatives and present findings to EH&S strategic planning group and the Campus Safety and Security Committee
- Provide administrative support services for other EH&S program areas, including the university’s annual flu vaccine initiative, employee health requirements for laboratory and research personnel, and Risk Management/Insurance

Pay
The anticipated hiring range is $62,285 - $69,205.
Schedule
The position works Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
