Environmental Health & Safety Engineer
About the role
The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Engineer for construction projects. WT provides construction management services to numerous clients in various sectors across the U.S.
Responsibilities
- Perform regular job site inspections to identify, document, and recommend mitigation of hazardous/potentially hazardous conditions and verify correction actions have been completed.
- Support incident investigations to include interviews, data compilation, photographs, and completing proper documentation.
- Evaluate various planning/permits such as: Hot Work, Confined Space, Fall Protection, Excavation, Steel Erection, Energized Work, Pre-cast Tilt-Up, etc., for effective and appropriate mitigation techniques.
- Apply Industrial Hygiene principles and techniques involving Hearing conservation, Lasers, Silica, Asbestos, Lead work, etc.
- Understand and apply OSHA Regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in an Environmental Health and Safety Related field
- Recognized Safety Professional Certification (e.g. BCSP GSP or ASP)

- Technical and managerial expertise in a broad range of areas.
- Experience with OSHA regulations.

Pay
The Company's pay ranges are dependent on various factors including role, internships with the Company, education, experience, and location. The pay range listed is subject to change at any time, in the Company's discretion, and does not alter the at-will nature of the employment relationship. The salary range is for Maryland and New Jersey only.
Schedule
Work hours will be determined at the Project or work assignment basis.
