Core Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs and procedures in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective/preventive action planning
- Support environmental compliance programs including waste management, air emissions, wastewater, and hazardous materials handling
- Coordinate and deliver EHS training programs for employees, contractors, and management
- Coordinate equipment installations, process changes, and capital projects to ensure EHS requirements are integrated
- Manage contractor safety programs and oversee safe work practices on-site
- Support emergency response planning, drills, and business continuity initiatives
- Maintain accurate safety documentation, records, and compliance reporting
Additional Responsibilities
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to workplace safety and operational risk reduction
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve safety processes and standards
- Monitor and interpret regulatory changes that may impact operations
- Promote a positive safety culture across all levels of the organization
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in environmental, health, and safety roles within manufacturing, construction, or general industry environments
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, hazard communication, lockout/tagout, machine guarding, and industrial hygiene principles
- Experience conducting risk assessments and incident investigations
- Strong understanding of electrical safety, ergonomics, and employee safety training practices
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and EHS management systems
- Ability to work independently and collaborate across departments
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Safety Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field
- Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, CHMM, or ASP
- Experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems
- Knowledge of arc flash, confined space, and process safety management programs
- Experience working in high-risk industrial or manufacturing environments
