Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator

About the role

The EHS Coordinator ensures safety compliance, administers training programs, manages incident investigations, and serves as the primary contact for site and project safety. This role coordinates monthly safety meetings, supports environmental compliance, and assists with Process Safety Management elements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates safety and operations training programs and tracks completion.
• Serves as the primary point of contact for site safety and project safety coordination.
• Coordinates monthly safety meetings for all assets.
• Supports incident management and incident investigations.
• Coordinates emergency response drills.
• Participates in internal and external audits.
• Assists with environmental compliance and coordination of Process Safety Management elements.
• Supports safety, PSM, and environmental compliance activities.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of safety compliance, site safety, project safety, incident management, and incident investigation practices.
• Ability to coordinate training programs, safety meetings, and emergency response drills.
• Ability to communicate with Operations and other stakeholders to schedule and track required training.
• Knowledge of environmental compliance and Process Safety Management elements.
• Familiarity with applicable regulatory agency requirements, including RRC, OCC, ODEQ, OSHA, PHMSA, TCEQ, and EPA.
• Strong organization, follow-through, and documentation skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability and willingness to travel occasionally, as required by business needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Occupational Safety, Environmental, or a related field; or equivalent knowledge demonstrated by work experience.
• 3 years of EHS experience in oil and gas, midstream, refining, or chemical industry preferred.
• 3 years of training program experience preferred.
• 3 years of experience interacting with regulatory agencies such as RRC, OCC, ODEQ, OSHA, PHMSA, TCEQ, and EPA preferred.
• 3 years of experience in NIMS, ICS, and emergency response preferred.

Skills

Preferred certifications: ASP, CSP, OHST, CFPS, CSHO, or related certification.

Physical Demands

This position may require occasional travel to remote sites, potential exposure to flammable material, adherence to safety protocols, compliance with operating regulations, and will involve rigorous physical demands.
