About the role
Triumvirate Environmental, one of the largest environmental services firms in North America, is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Consultant for our Northern CA team. This service-oriented individual will be responsible for short- and long-term consulting and staff augmentation engagements, ensuring the highest level of client satisfaction. The role is onsite at assigned clients in the South San Francisco Bay Area, CA.
Responsibilities
- Measure occupational and environmental hazards, such as noise and ergonomics, using calibrated scientific equipment and/or collecting samples of dust, vapors, or gases according to defined operating procedures.
- Participate in the inspection and examination of machinery and equipment, such as lifting devices, machine guards, or scaffolding.
- Conduct workplace safety inspections, evaluating the use of personal protective equipment (e.g., respirators, protective eyewear, hardhats) according to applicable regulations, including worker interviews and work observations.
- Identify potential accident and health hazards (e.g., toxic vapors, mold, explosive gas-air mixtures) and help implement control measures, such as adjustments to ventilation systems.
- Investigate accidents and injuries, identifying causes and recommending remedial actions.
- Communicate with client personnel regarding workplace safety issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Conduct routine EHS safety trainings (e.g., new employee orientation, hazard communication, forklift training) without supervision.
- Write reports, including accident reports, and complete Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) recordkeeping forms.
- Assist in developing occupational health and safety systems, including drafting or updating policies, procedures, and manuals.
Requirements
- 2+ years' experience in an EHS capacity.
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health, Safety, or a related scientific field.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to remain calm in stressful situations.
- Valid driver's license and personal vehicle.
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience as a professional advisor or consultant to third-party clients.
- Completion of two or more industry-recognized trainings (e.g., OSHA 10/30, ABSA, HAZWOPER, DOT/IATA HAZMAT Transportation).
- Active membership in at least one national professional safety organization, including local chapters.
- Working toward obtaining a professional designation/certification (e.g., CSP, CHMM, CIH).

Pay
Pay Range: $70,000 USD - $90,000 USD
