About the role

Amentum is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Professional for the Space Force Range Contract.

Typical Duties

  • Support a comprehensive Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Program
  • Identify and address environmental, health, and safety concerns in assigned areas with minimal supervision
  • Perform Occupational Safety inspections for contract-wide locations and provide technical advice and assistance to management and field personnel on a wide range of EHS and Industrial Hygiene programs
  • Support the development and implementation of new EHS Programs
  • Support/perform periodic risk assessments of assigned infrastructure and programs. Inform management when areas require attention and recommend corrective action
  • Perform compliance testing/monitoring reviews to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements; assist in resolving observations as appropriate and follow through to ensure corrective action is taken
  • Perform research, acquisition, and control of hazardous chemicals and comply with the process to dispose of any hazardous or non-hazardous waste
  • Support regulatory compliance of air, wastewater, stormwater, toxic materials, tanks, hazardous waste, and hazardous materials programs
  • Monitor changes to laws and regulations and disseminate pertinent information to the affected parties to ensure compliance
  • Research, create and conduct training on a variety of EHS programs
  • Maintain compliance-related information and documentation to ensure they are accurate and current
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an environment, health or safety-related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Three or more years' experience in the EHS industry
  • Experience in Safety Program compliance and field maintenance activities
  • Knowledge of Hazardous Waste and Material management processes
  • Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 29 CFR including 1904, 1910, and 1926, and familiarity with National Fire Protection Association, and American National Standards Institute Standards
  • Background in Industrial Hygiene Program requirements and field application
  • Experience with providing effective training on a wide variety of EHS related topics
  • Knowledge of Federal environmental regulations
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience with Enterprise Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health - Management Information System (EESOH-MIS), preferred
  • Experience and knowledge of United States Air Force Standards and related regulatory guidance, preferred
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills for resolving issues
  • Interpersonal skills to interact with customers and team members
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities
  • Solid conflict management skills
  • Ability to exercise diplomacy within a team environment
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal and ability to interact with team members and support personnel

Preferred Credentials

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
  • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
  • Certified Hazardous Material Manager (CHMM)
  • Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training completion
  • OSHA 30-hour training course completion

Additional Requirements

  • Occasional travel may be required up to 10%
  • The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance. Note: U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Pay

The annual starting salary for this position is between $75,000 – $85,000 annually. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may be eligible for bonus or long-term incentive compensation awards.
