Environmental Health and Safety Specialist

Apply Description Phlow is seeking an EHS professional to support a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible manufacturing operation. This role partners with Operations, Engineering, and employees across the site to manage EHS programs, identify and mitigate risks, maintain regulatory compliance, and promote a strong culture of safety and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, and sustain EHS programs, policies, and procedures aligned with regulatory requirementsConduct EHS audits, inspections, and facility assessments to verify effectiveness of EHS programs and drive corrective actionsManage regulatory compliance for the site operations through implementation of compliance calendarCollaborate with operations and engineering teams on EHS compliance obligations and risk mitigationDeliver and coordinate safety training for new hire, refresher, and specialized programsCoordinate incident response and management to include incident investigation and corrective actionsReview and approve work authorization for contractor and maintenance work, including LOTO, Confined Space, and Hot WorkConduct environmental and industrial hygiene monitoring and risk assessment activities for Operation and Maintenance tasksProviding guidance on safety procedures and training employees in safe work practices The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $120,000, with the final offer determined based on factors such as the candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, and education. In addition to a competitive base salary, this position is eligible to participate in Phlow's bonus and stock option programs. Requirements Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.3-5 years experience working in a chemical or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment Key Competencies Ability to conduct audits, inspections, risk assessmentsProficiency in incident investigation and root cause analysisStrong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and state regulatory requirementsEffective cross-functional communication and collaboration Physical And Work Environment Requirements Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds routinely. Frequent reaching, bending, twisting, turning, and climbing. Ability to walk, stand, and climb stairs for extended periods. Work in various positions such as walking, standing, or sitting for prolonged durations. Exposure to indoor factory conditions and outdoor environments with varying temperatures.
