Environmental Health and Safety Specialist

About the role

Crenlo has an exciting opportunity within our Human Resources Group for an Environmental, Health and Safety Coordinator. This role supports the EHS Manager with workplace safety tasks, administrative recordkeeping, audits, permits, and personnel training. The ideal candidate will help foster a safety-focused culture and contribute to a “Culture of Zero.”

Responsibilities

• Train and/or coordinate required EHS trainings for all employees.
• Perform incident investigations, identify root causes, and lead corrective actions.
• Assist in conducting Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and implementing improvements.
• Assist in conducting Risk Assessments and implementing improvements.
• Participate in site safety, ergonomic, and other EHS meetings at all levels.
• Review, maintain, and write EHS procedures, work instructions, and maps.
• Maintain EHS records in an organized manner.
• Perform internal audits for ISO 9001 compliance.
• Assist with annual objectives related to Safety, Environmental performance, and Cost Savings.
• Conduct Layered Process Audits (LPAs) for Safety, Environmental compliance, Lockout, Machine Guarding, and related areas.
• Work confidentially as required.
• Collaborate with Maintenance and Engineering to understand job functions in relation to EHS and ensure compliance.
• Lead Kaizen events focused on EHS improvements.
• Promote a strong safety culture and adhere to all safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Identify and communicate workplace hazards; correct unsafe actions or conditions or escalate as needed.

Location

This position is based in Rochester, MN and reports directly to the EH&S Manager.
