About the role
The EHS Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with relevant EHS legal and regulatory requirements, supporting the development of safety programs, and driving continuous improvement in environmental, health, and safety practices.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local EHS legal and regulatory requirements.
- Lead select site environmental, health, and safety programs.
- Communicate, assess, improve, and integrate EHS requirements into work processes and facility changes.
- Support regulatory agency inspections and emergency response preparation.
- Execute the process for reporting, investigating, and communicating accidents, hazards, and concerns.
- Oversee EHS corrective and preventative actions, drive actions to closure.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization regarding EHS compliance.
- Support corporate-wide EHS initiatives, including metrics reporting and audits.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
- 3+ years of EHS experience related to manufacturing and repair operations.
- Desire to grow EHS subject matter expertise and work towards relevant certification.
- Strong grasp of computer-based tools and systems for use in writing, training, presenting, and data analysis.
- Highly motivated and demonstrates strong follow through and accountability, with a proactive sense of urgency to problem-solving.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
