About the role

The EHS Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with relevant EHS legal and regulatory requirements, supporting the development of safety programs, and driving continuous improvement in environmental, health, and safety practices.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local EHS legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead select site environmental, health, and safety programs.
  • Communicate, assess, improve, and integrate EHS requirements into work processes and facility changes.
  • Support regulatory agency inspections and emergency response preparation.
  • Execute the process for reporting, investigating, and communicating accidents, hazards, and concerns.
  • Oversee EHS corrective and preventative actions, drive actions to closure.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization regarding EHS compliance.
  • Support corporate-wide EHS initiatives, including metrics reporting and audits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of EHS experience related to manufacturing and repair operations.
  • Desire to grow EHS subject matter expertise and work towards relevant certification.
  • Strong grasp of computer-based tools and systems for use in writing, training, presenting, and data analysis.
  • Highly motivated and demonstrates strong follow through and accountability, with a proactive sense of urgency to problem-solving.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
