Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Technician

About the role

The Safety & Health Technician supports the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the company's safety and health programs across various operations including surface mining, processing facilities, bagging plant, and support facilities.

Responsibilities

• Conducts inspections, observations, and training support
• Acts as a coach and resource for miners and leadership
• Investigates incidents and promotes safe work practices

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, associate's degree or higher in a related field
• Experience in surface mining or heavy equipment industry
• Knowledge of surface mining operations, mobile equipment, and processing plants
• Ability to interpret and apply MSHA regulations
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel between mine sites
• Strong communication skills with the ability to coach and influence safe behavior
• Working knowledge in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Skills
