Environmental Health and Safety Associate (2nd shift)

About the role

The EHS Associate supports and administers employee safety programs under the direction of the Environmental, Health and Safety Manager. Key responsibilities include:

• Ensuring the effective application of safety practices and utilization of safety equipment.
• Identifying and recommending measures to reduce industrial health and safety accident hazards.
• Developing and implementing department-specific safety goals and procedures.
• Conducting safety walk-throughs and engaging the workforce to identify safety issues and develop solutions.
• Reviewing and updating policies and training programs.
• Conducting Job Safety Analyses and accident investigations.
• Completing safety assessments and observations.
• Supporting Lean Business Enterprise initiatives for continuous process improvement and waste elimination.

Qualifications

• Two years’ professional experience in Environmental Health and Safety or transferable skills.
• First Aid/CPR/AED certification by a recognized training and certification provider (willing and able to obtain within 4 weeks).
