Environmental Geologist - Remediation
About the role
AECOM is seeking a self-motivated, experienced Geologist for our Midland, TX office. This position supports Project Managers in planning, overseeing fieldwork, and evaluating hydrogeologic and reporting phases for a variety of multidisciplinary environmental projects.
Responsibilities
- Manage field-based tasks of environmental investigation and remediation programs.
- Oversee and lead well installation and sampling tasks, and communicate with Project Managers.
- Data management, evaluation, and report writing, including drafting environmental investigation and closure reports.
- Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
- Comfortable with travel to project locations, including driving and overnight stays. Expected travel time is greater than 50% of the time.
- Flexible to work on a multitude of diverse projects, maintain a positive attitude, mentor junior staff, and commit to workplace health and safety.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in geology or relevant geological science discipline (e.g., geophysics, hydrogeology, or geochemistry).
- 4+ years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Geologist License or Geologist in Training Certificate.
- Familiarity with common drilling techniques for environmental work.
- Current OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
- Knowledge of RCRA or CERCLA processes.
- Experience with local regulatory agencies.
- Reporting experience in routine monitoring, site investigation work plans, conceptual site model, and well installation reports.
- Task management or project management experience.
- Proposal writing a plus.

Additional Information
All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines. Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $65,000 to $90,000 per year.
