About the role

We’re looking for a mid-level Geologist to continue their career at Jacobs—where we’ll empower you to learn and grow in the delivery of environmental site characterization and remediation projects for government and global private-sector clients. Based in Texas, you’ll collaborate with scientists, engineers, subject-matter experts, and project managers on exciting projects, learning from others and sharing your knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Design, perform, or oversee soil, soil vapor, groundwater, and surface water investigations.
  • Build teams of colleagues and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate and manage fieldwork logistics.
  • Analyze and interpret data.
  • Write technical reports.
  • Participate in meetings with clients and regulators.
  • Prioritize safety and maintain the highest standards of Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in geology or a closely related field.
  • Professional experience delivering environmental site characterization and remediation projects, including fieldwork methodology/procedures and assessment/evaluation of data for various environmental media.
  • Experience leading teams toward a common goal.
  • 40-hr HAZWOPER certification or the ability to attain this certification.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in geology or a closely related field (preferred).
  • Professional registration (e.g., Professional Geologist) or intent to obtain and maintain professional certification.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with coworkers, contractors, and clients.
  • Strong attention to detail when conducting fieldwork and evaluating data.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $66,300.00 to $95,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Schedule

Hybrid working policy allowing employees to split their work week between Jacobs offices/projects and remote locations.
