Environmental Field Organizer
About the Role
The Green Corps Campaigner program is a four-month crash course combining classroom training and work on an environmental campaign to introduce you to the field of environmental advocacy and organizing.
Green Corps provides a unique combination of classroom instruction and field experience to give you the foundation needed to make an immediate impact for the environment.
Responsibilities
- Receive one to two weeks of classroom training to learn the basic skills of environmental organizing, including how to recruit and train volunteers, organize events, gain media coverage, and more.
- Run one campaign to put these skills to work on a pressing environmental issue. You will:
- Work on a campus or in a community to identify and train activists and volunteers.
- Build and demonstrate support from the community for your campaign goals.
- Gain media coverage.
- Work to win policy changes to protect the environment.
- Relocate as required; all Campaigners must be geographically flexible to work where they’re needed most.
- Gain skills and experiences to make an impact, with potential for advancement or recommendations within the broader environmental and social change movement.
This position requires exercising discretion and independent judgment in making decisions on matters of significance.
Qualifications
- A passion for protecting the environment and an interest in dedicating your career to environmental work.
- Strong communication skills, including writing, public speaking, and working with others one-on-one and in a group.
- Leadership experience on campus or in your community.
- Strong work ethic and dedication to goals, along with flexibility to adjust plans in a rapidly-moving campaign.
- An interest in a short-term position to learn the basics of environmental organizing while making a difference on a critical campaign.
No previous organizing experience is required.

Pay
The target annual compensation for this position is $40,000 (may range between $40,000 and $44,450 depending on location and start date). Pay and benefits are prorated for the four-month campaign position.
Schedule
This position is approximately four months long. Start dates are available for Fall 2026 or January 2027.
Location
Green Corps Campaigners go where the environment needs them and wherever they can make the biggest impact. Campaigns may take place almost anywhere in the country. While location preferences are considered, all Campaigners must be geographically flexible.
