About the role

Are you a detail-oriented environmental professional ready to make a meaningful impact? Fishbeck is seeking an experienced Environmental Engineer or Hydrogeologist to support investigation and remediation projects across Michigan.

Responsibilities

  • Understand client needs and analyze constraints in schedule, scope, and budget to deliver value-driven solutions.
  • Develop work plans, Data Quality Objectives, and sampling and analysis plans.
  • Plan and coordinate field activities for environmental investigations.
  • Design and interpret investigations of contaminated media including soil, groundwater, surface water, soil gas, indoor air, and sediment.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and prepare cost estimates.
  • Design and implement ex-situ and in-situ remedial actions.
  • Develop vapor intrusion mitigation systems.
  • Oversee performance monitoring and operation & maintenance activities.
  • Prepare technical reports, specifications, proposals, and client communications.
  • Ensure safe execution of all work activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Hydrogeology, Geology, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with environmental investigation and remediation projects.
  • Strong understanding of environmental regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Proven ability to manage projects and communicate effectively with clients and regulators.
  • Excellent technical writing, data interpretation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites and perform field work.
