Responsibilities
- Implement project work associated with multimedia (air, water, soil, and biota) investigations and remediation.
- Perform environmental sampling (e.g., surface water, groundwater, soil, sediment, soil vapor, indoor air).
- Oversee subcontractors in the field (e.g., drillers).
- Complete detailed field notes and other forms of documentation to accurately capture field activities and observations.
- Work in a team environment and communicate effectively with all levels of staff.
- Communicate with staff, management, clients, and regulators or on-site personnel effectively and professionally both verbally and in writing.
- Assist and coordinate project planning with labs, drillers, and equipment vendors as needed.
Requirements
- B.S in Environmental Engineering or other related field.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in environmental sampling, site investigation, or remediation.
- Must be organized and detail-oriented.
- Proficient in MS Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Flexible to work outside normal business hours, at locations requiring overnight stays, and overtime as needed.
- Ability to apply analytical / scientific thinking to define and solve problems.
- Ability to work well in a team environment with a willingness to follow detailed instructions and learn new skills.
- Ability to remain on feet for extended periods of time either stationary or walking.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Must be able to pass a HAZWOPER physical and be medically able to wear a tight-fitting respirator / Fit for Duty Exam / Medical Exam.
- Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening.
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is required.
- Experience in site investigations is required.
- Have and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Schedule
The position offers a combination of remote work and travel, with approximately 70% field work and travel involving overnight stays.
