Responsibilities
- Research, design, plan, and perform engineering duties in the prevention, control, and remediation of environmental hazards using various engineering disciplines.
- Support of strategic pursuits, focused on federal sector and private industrial clients.
- Work on a wide variety of environmental remediation projects including PRB, Slurry walls, and liner/cap/cover scope.
- Lead complex investigations, design solutions, and support construction for remediation projects.
- Develop strategies and deliver innovative, client-focused solutions.
- Provide environmental advice to other GHD teams within multi-disciplinary project teams.
- Remain current on standard methodologies for innovative remediation approaches.
- Manage design projects including budgets, timelines, and deliverables.
- Develop and review technical environmental reports, drawings, and specifications.
- Opportunity to work on local, national, and global projects, which may at times entail supporting other GHD office locations requiring some travel.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Collate and analyze data using preset tools, methods, and formats.
- Create engineering drawings to support the communication, evaluation, and implementation of engineering solutions.
- Contribute to the design of engineering solutions; design the feasibility testing approach and supervise its implementation to support the development and validation of engineering solutions.
- Health, Safety, and Environment: Follow the organization's HSE policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate environmental risks.
- Personal Capability Building: Develop own capabilities through training, coaching, and maintaining professional accreditation; stay updated on technology, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Project Management: Work within an established project management plan to achieve specific goals.
- Client & Customer Management (External): Help senior colleagues manage client and customer relationships by using relevant sales or client systems. Engage with US Federal and private sector projects and regulators, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. Communicate effectively and produce high-quality reports to maintain client service excellence. Take initiative and work collaboratively as a self-starter.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (or related field) required.
- Current PE, or the ability to obtain registration within 6 months.
