Environmental Engineer 1 (2027 New Graduates!)

About the role

CDM Smith is looking for an Environmental Engineer to join our Environmental Services team in Fairfax. As part of our team, you'll perform essential engineering tasks related to remediation sites.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing shop drawings, developing engineering specifications, conducting fieldwork, and creating designs to meet client project requirements.
• Preparing and reviewing remediation documents, including draft designs and reports for compliance with federal, state and local regulations, ensuring that firm policies and practices are followed on all projects.
• Conducting site reviews and studies, as needed, to ensure projects are aligned with client and location specifications.
• Contributing to technical knowledge management (TKM) through white papers and design documentation of new or special case designs and studies.
• Collaborating on conference materials like posters or presentations.

Skills

• Basic knowledge of computer assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices.
• Basic knowledge of engineer principles of design.
• Knowledge of Microsoft business software (Excel, Word, etc.).
• Good verbal and written communication ability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• 0 years of experience.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.
• Amount of travel required: 50%.
• An appropriate and valid driver's license is required.

Pay

Pay range: $62,130.00 – $102,502.00. All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
