Environmental Designer, Civil 3D

Responsibilities

• Prepare plans, specifications, and design drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D software for projects involving environmental remediation, water, wastewater, and stormwater management systems.
• Support engineers and project teams by producing accurate, high-quality drawings and survey-based designs.
• Assist with the preparation of permitting packages required by governmental entities such as the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation (VTDEC), Regional Planning Commission (RPCs), and local municipalities.
• Create new details and design elements or modify existing drawings based on redlines provided by others.
• Interpret and develop detailed drawings from sketches and markups provided by others.
• Work with civil engineering and architectural firms and their technical drafting and surveying staff to support redevelopment projects.
• Provide technical support and oversight of AutoCAD drawing production by others.
• Communicate effectively and efficiently with project team members, regulatory agency representatives, etc.
• Provide general project support.
• Absorb and comply with Atlas' health and safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, Surveying, or a similar field of study.
• 3-10 years of relevant experience with CAD production for projects involving site development, contaminated plume maps, erosion and sedimentation controls, wastewater, and stormwater management systems.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Strong surveying skills.
• Ability to read and interpret maps and project specifications.
• High level of proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D software, including building surfaces, grading, creating profiles and sections, developing corridors, and working with styles.
• Certainty in working with GIS systems and other mapping software.
• Competence in surveying concepts, skills, and equipment, including total station and GPS.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, Surveying, or a similar field of study.
• 3-10 years of relevant experience with CAD production for projects involving site development, contaminated plume maps, erosion and sedimentation controls, wastewater, and stormwater management systems.

Pay

$28.85 - $33.65 hourly compensation. The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the state's law. Final agreed-upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.

Schedule

Full-time position with occasional travel as needed.
