Environmental Claims Specialist - Complex Claims Unit

About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Environmental Claims Specialist - Complex Claims Unit to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This role will manage complex, high-value environmental liability claims from investigation through resolution, with a strong emphasis on coverage analysis and litigation coordination. The position partners closely with customers, counsel, and internal stakeholders to deliver clear claim evaluations and sound decision-making. It also offers exposure to mediations, trials, and broader claims initiatives that support the organization’s objectives.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Responsibilities

• Independently manage all aspects of complex, high-value claims.
• Communicate proactively with customers and partners about claims status.
• Analyze complex policies and coverage scenarios thoroughly.
• Draft clear, concise coverage positions for claims.
• Investigate claims and lawsuits effectively and efficiently.
• Manage litigation processes and counsel, including planning and budgeting.
• Articulate detailed assessments of coverage, liability, and damages.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in general liability claims with environmental or latent injury focus.
• Experience in risk transfer and additional insured tenders.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to present complex evaluations in discussions.
• Superior customer service and active listening abilities.
• Proven track record of managing multiple priorities effectively.
• Proficient in negotiating high-value general liability claims.

Pay

Compensation: $107,600 – $161,400 annually
