Environmental Certification Engineer
About the role
The Certification Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring all vehicles are certified to meet the company's sales plan. This involves defining certification programs and executing the necessary deliverables. The position requires strong communication skills, self-motivation, and a deep understanding of environmental regulations and testing procedures.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute certification programs for vehicles
- Work closely with TSRC members and other departments to ensure compliance with environmental standards
- Understand and communicate vehicle program plans to stakeholders
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement certification deliverables
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field from an accredited university
- 5+ years of environmental certification or homologation experience
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience reading corporate product bulletins
- Self-starter with a focus on detail and discipline
Preferred Qualifications
- Emission testing experience
- Experience in global environmental regulations
- Working knowledge of global regulatory emissions compliance, testing, and certification processes
- Master’s degree in a Science, Computer, Engineering, or a related field from an accredited university
Skills
The ideal candidate should possess a broad understanding of vehicle systems and have a strong foundation in environmental certification and homologation. They should also be adept at driving decisions through consensus and influencing others.
