About the Role

The Department of Marine Science at Coastal Carolina University invites applications for a Teaching Associate beginning in January 2027. The primary teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate Environmental science lectures and labs for science majors and/or Marine science lectures and labs for science majors. We seek a highly motivated individual who will support experiential learning activities in lecture, laboratory, and field settings.

Coastal Carolina University is a public comprehensive liberal arts institution located in Conway, South Carolina, just nine miles from the Atlantic coastal resort city of Myrtle Beach. The Department of Marine Science offers B.S. degrees in Marine Science and Marine Coastal Environmental Science, an M.S. in Coastal Marine and Wetland Studies, and a Ph.D. in Marine Science – Coastal and Marine Systems Science, as well as undergraduate minors in Marine Science, Environmental Science, and Coastal Geology.

Requirements

  • M.S. in Environmental or Marine Science with at least 18 earned graduate credits in Environmental and Marine Science.

Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Two years of experience in Environmental or Marine Science research or work beyond the M.S., plus at least one related peer-reviewed publication.
  • Ph.D. in Environmental or Marine Science with research experience and at least one related peer-reviewed publication.
