Environmental Aide - Environmental Services - Evening Shift Including All Weekends and Holidays

About the role

The Environmental Aide is responsible for cleaning and maintaining assigned patient and non-patient areas according to standardized procedures of the department. The Environmental Aide utilizes mechanical equipment, tools, chemical solutions, and cleaning supplies.

This is a full-time evening shift position (4:00 PM–12:00 AM) including all weekends and holidays, located at NYP/Brooklyn Methodist Hospital.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain patient and non-patient areas following department procedures.
• Operate mechanical equipment such as high-speed floor burnishers, extractors, and groundskeeper equipment.
• Follow recycling and hazardous waste guidelines.
• Perform tasks requiring standing, walking, and manual dexterity for extended periods.
• Lift, pull, and push objects up to 10 pounds at intervals.

Requirements

• Basic computer literacy.
• Must read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Knowledge of industrial cleaning maintenance equipment.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods.

Preferred Qualifications

• One-year cleaning experience in an institutional or commercial setting.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Pay

Salary Range: $24.61–$26.46 per hour.

Schedule
