Role Overview
The EHS Manager position is responsible for developing, planning, coordinating and directing environmental and health/safety activities at their applicable locations in accordance with PureCycle's Operational Excellence Management System (OEMS) to ensure employee engagement & regulatory compliance. This is a key member of the site leadership team with dual reporting to Site Manager and Director of EHS.
What You'll Be Doing
- Ensures compliance with all Federal, State, Local and Internal requirements, and reporting.
- Ensures EHS-related work processes are performed in accordance with the Operational Excellence Management System as designed by the corporate EHSQ PMs.
- Regularly interfaces with corporate EHSQ Program Managers for expert support.
- Provides leadership at assigned facility in the areas of EHSQ.
- Manages and coordinates EHS specialist role as direct report.
- Provides administrative oversight to the quality laboratory technicians.
- Recognizes and resolves conditions with potential to lead to significant events or noncompliance situations.
- Led and facilitates all Environmental compliance record keeping, reporting, monitoring, and permit revisions and modifications.
- Ensures compliance with all regulatory elements of Process Safety Management and Corporate Process Safety Standards.
- Leading or coordinating 5-year Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) revalidations.
- Participating in, as requested PHAs associated with projects or Management of Changes (MOCs).
- Participating in, coordinating, and scheduling 3-year OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Plan (RMP) Compliance Audits.
- Ensuring that Process Safety Information (PSI) such as Safety Data Sheets, the Site Reactivity Matrix, and information on Maximum Intended Inventories is stored in the appropriate electronic location.
- Participating in and leading Pre-Startup Safety Reviews as necessary.
- Ensuring that IRO team members are actively participating in the site’s PSM program as required as part of the Employee Participation element.
- Ensuring that the IRO sites Emergency Preparedness and Response program is understood and adhered to.
- Ensuring that Contractors at the IRO site are adequately managed.
- Assists, as needed, with job hazard identification.
- Ensures incident investigations are performed in accordance with the corporate standard.
- Supports the completion of site corrective and preventive actions.
- Covers and supports corporate compliance programs.
- Provides and tracks and ensures EHS-related training for site employees.
- Manages regulated and hazardous waste at the site.
Basic Qualifications (Required)
- BS in a related field of study (Env. Eng., Safety Eng., Industrial Hygiene, etc.)
- 10+ years of relevant experience.
- 5+ years of direct supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, ANSI and EPA regulations and reporting requirements.
- Experience with EHSQ Platforms (Enablon, Intelex, etc.).
- Familiarity with EHS-related ISO systems.
- Proficient with modern workplace software (Office, etc.).
Nice to Haves
- EHS-related memberships, registrations and/or certifications.
- Experience in managing a team of direct reports.
- Tangent background experiences in ENV, PSM and/or OHS disciplines.
- Worked in a PSM facility.
