Role Overview

The EHS Manager leads and advances Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs across multiple manufacturing sites, with primary responsibility (focus) for Ridgeway, SC and secondary, dotted-line responsibility for Chandler, AZ. This role is instrumental in embedding a proactive safety culture, ensuring full compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements, and driving continuous improvement in EHS performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Culture

    • Serve as the EHS leader and strategic partner to Plant Managers and cross-functional leadership at both Ridgeway and some support Chandler.
    • Model and drive a culture of safety ownership, operational discipline, and shared accountability across both locations, with emphasis on Ridgeway.
    • Build capability and rigor in site-level EHS programs, coaching local teams and establishing consistent expectations and standards.
    • Support onboarding, coaching, and performance feedback for site-level EHS professionals.
  • Multi-Site EHS Program Execution

    • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DHEC, ADEQ, and other applicable regulatory bodies across both sites.
    • Oversee and guide incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action processes—primarily at Ridgeway while advising on Chandler events.
    • Standardize key EHS systems, audits, and management review processes to ensure consistency between sites.
    • Maintain and manage compliance calendars, environmental permitting, and agency reporting requirements.
  • Cross-Site Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

    • Lead deployment of corporate EHS standards and strategic initiatives across Ridgeway and Chandler.
    • Facilitate best-practice sharing and benchmarking between the two locations.
    • Leverage EHS analytics and leading indicators to proactively identify risk and drive behavioral safety improvements.
    • Manage and communicate EHS performance dashboards and participate in global or regional corporate EHS reviews.
  • Training & Engagement

    • Coordinate and monitor safety training programs, awareness campaigns, and site-level communication efforts.
    • Coach safety committees and drive employee engagement, focusing on promoting ownership and accountability.
    • Champion recognition of safe work behaviors and promote a culture of continuous learning.
  • Environmental Oversight

    • Ensure compliance and continuous improvement in air, water, waste, and hazardous materials programs.
    • Support site ownership of environmental permits, including synthetic minor air permits, stormwater programs, and RCRA compliance.
    • Coordinate environmental audits, corrective actions, and reporting.

Qualifications

  • Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
    • ASPCSP certification preferred.
    • Minimum 5 years of EHS leadership experience in a manufacturing setting, Prefer at least 2 years in a multi-site or matrixed environment.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence across diverse plant leadership teams and functions.
    • Experience managing compliance and driving improvements across geographically dispersed facilities.
    • Strong working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, ADEQ, RCRA, and state/local environmental regulations.

Work Environment & Expectations

  • Work Environment & Expectations

    • Travel: 10–20% travel required, including regular travel to Chandler, AZ for site reviews and alignment.
    • Primary support (80%) will be focused on Ridgeway, SC, with secondary support (20%) to Chandler, AZ.
    • Must be responsive to EHS matters both remotely and on-site as needed, including potential after-hours incidents.
