About the role
This person will be part of our Building Envelope division and will be involved in a variety of functions, including:
- Manage our team of Industry Rope Access (IRA) inspectors and FISP projects
- Perform periodic rope inspections as part of the role and responsibility
- Consult on existing facade design for enhancement or maintenance projects: forensic review and analysis, bid document and repair detail preparation, direct bidding phase, and construction administration
- Work with various departments on integrated internal services (proposal writing, internal tracking of budgetary project requirements)
- Communicate effectively and establish relationships with clients and job-related management teams
- Provide cross-functional support to ensure client needs and internal timelines/project activities are completed
- Advise architects and clients on building enclosure performance, constructability, and durability
- Document and maintain well-written reports on project-related activity
- Assist with the oversight and review of Restoration Division staff’s reports and progress of projects
- Assist with managing manpower and division technical needs and initiatives
- Manage staff or team and foster training/mentoring
- Occasional presentation of white papers/case studies to technical teams
Requirements
- Registered Architect or Professional Engineer preferred
- Minimum of 8+ years working with building envelope/enclosure and restoration project experience
- Experience with industrial rope access
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Engineering
- Knowledge of architectural design theories/concepts and local laws/codes
- Familiarity with building codes (including Energy Codes) in local markets
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Inspection certificates preferred
- Excellent PC computer skills and experience with Microsoft Word or suitable document writing programs
- Ability to work in a dynamic team environment, proficient in problem-solving and multi-tasking
- Detail-oriented while also seeing the bigger picture
