Entry Warehouse Team Member

About the role

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk at Winland Foods plays a crucial role in ensuring that our operations run smoothly and safely. This position involves receiving, inspecting, storing, and shipping materials in a manufacturing environment, while maintaining accurate inventory records and adhering to strict safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in delivery drivers
• Schedule and receive incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders, packing lists, or invoices
• Inspect incoming materials for damage, defects, or discrepancies and report issues as needed
• Unload, sort, label, and store materials in designated warehouse locations
• Prepare outgoing shipments, including packaging, labeling, and documentation
• Cook with production, purchasing, and warehouse personnel to ensure material availability
• Maintain accurate inventory records using inventory management systems and/or ERP systems
• Perform cycle counts and assist with physical inventory audits
• Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
• Ensure compliance with shipping regulations, company procedures, and safety standards
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Absorb and unload trucks
• Track and process shipping and receiving paperwork accurately and efficiently
• Communicate effectively with third-party locations and distribution centers to ensure timely movement and tracking of products and materials

Requirements

• Previous experience with Shipping and Receiving in a manufacturing environment
• Previous experience in the food industry and knowledge of GMP’s preferred
• Experience with ERP Software preferred
• Experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to work independently and follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
• Diligent work ethic with willingness to learn
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Diplomacy and tact required
• Ability to perform basic math calculations
• Proficient computer skills required, including data entry skills
• Ability to analyze data and resolve discrepancies
• Attention to detail and troubleshooting

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience with Shipping and Receiving in a manufacturing environment
• Previous experience in the food industry and knowledge of GMP’s preferred

Pay

$23.55 to $24.80 per hour, plus the shift differential.

Schedule

2nd Shift 5:00pm to 1:30am, Monday - Friday, with potential for Saturday work based on production schedule.
