ENTRY Phlebotomist

About the role

The Entry PSR I/Lobby Experience Coordinator helps with patient care by greeting them upon arrival and answering any questions or concerns with care and compassion. This individual will also help maintain the integrity of the waiting area and assist with breaks when other Phlebotomists are unavailable. This is primarily a Lobby Greeter position to help patients check in at the kiosk and to help them feel more comfortable while waiting to be called back for their labs to be run, and will fill in for breaks and cover for staffing shortages.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients upon arrival and answer questions with care and compassion
• Help patients check in at the self-service kiosk or handheld tablet
• Maintain the integrity of the waiting area
• Assist with breaks when other Phlebotomists are unavailable
• Utilize Phlebotomy skills to grow within the company
• Explain to patients what to expect regarding scheduled procedures in a safe and accurate manner
• Create an atmosphere of trust and confidence while maintaining sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy of patient information
• Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor
• Maintain a safe and professional environment
• Maintain required records and documentation
• Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees and the public
• Work both in the lobby and in a draw room with patients to help cover breaks
• Perform with confidence both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent REQUIRED
• Phlebotomy experience is required, even if just an intern/externship to learn the basics
• Some Phlebotomy experience is REQUIRED
• Minimum of 1-2 years of client facing customer service REQUIRED (Retail, Home Health Aide, etc.)
• Keyboard/data entry experience a must
• Ability to handle patients with care and compassion
• Customer service skills required
• Candidates need to be within a 20-25 minute commute window to ensure their ability to travel to/from the site for coverage

Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:30pm
