Entry - Mid Level Fire Designer/Engineer
About the role
Fire Designer I and Fire Designer/Engineer II positions are available. These roles involve designing building systems, preparing technical documents, and performing engineering calculations. The positions require a bachelor's degree in engineering and relevant experience.
Responsibilities
- Performs calculations and designs basic engineering systems in collaboration with experienced design staff.
- Prepares system layouts, detailed drawings and schematics.
- Reviews shop drawings for conformance to plans and specifications.
- Prepares or modifies reports, plans and designs for projects.
- Supports business development or pursuit activities.
- Communicates with clients as needed for the development and coordination of requirements and scope of work.
- Maintains knowledge and understanding of industry software, including Revit, Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Office products.
- Researches and reviews new products, industry trends and evolving codes and standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field of engineering (mechanical, electrical, fire protection or architectural).
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience or 4 years with high school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam preferred.
- Additional certifications and accreditations aligned with the relevant technical field preferred.
- Basic proficiency in engineering design.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- High technical aptitude.
- Ability to learn, understand and utilize various systems and processes.
- Team-oriented and willing to collaborate.
- Adaptable to changing work environments and priorities.
- Ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to give and receive constructive feedback and adjust to coaching.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and engineering design software applicable to your discipline or focus.
Qualifications
